Simple & Fast Money Detection Solution
KINGTON’s UV LED counterfeit detectors provide
simple, fast,
and reliable verification for banknotes and security documents. They
are ideal for use in
cash centers,
money changers, retail counters, banks, and mobile inspection scenarios.
Compared with traditional UV tube detectors, KINGTON’s LED-based
models use
energy-efficient UV LED light sources, eliminating the need for tube
replacement and significantly extending service life with minimal maintenance.
Using
ultraviolet
(UV) illumination, the detectors reveal fluorescent security features
and embedded elements on genuine banknotes. Selected models also support
white light,
magnetic (MG), and magnification inspection, enabling multi-level
authentication across major global currencies including
USD, EUR, GBP,
CAD, THB, PHP, INR, and more.

U.S. Currency Security Thread Under UV Light:
U.S. banknotes of $5 and higher
contain an embedded security thread positioned differently for each
denomination. Under UV light, the thread fluoresces in a specific color and is
visible from both sides of the note.
-
$100 bill:
Red
-
$50 bill:
Yellow
-
$20 bill: Green
-
$10 bill:
Orange
-
$5 bill:
Blue
Note: Older counterfeit U.S. bills
often fluoresce blue/white under UV light due to the presence of optical
brighteners in fake paper. Genuine currency will display a distinct colored
security thread in the correct position (except for $1 and $2 bills).
U.S. Currency Watermark:
Hold the note up to light to view the watermark located to the
right of the portrait on
$5 and higher
denominations. Watermarks are visible from both sides of the
note.
U.S. Currency Micro-printing:
Micro-printing is featured in several locations on denominations $5 and higher
and can aid in authentication. These small printed words, which may require
magnification to see, should be clear. Micro-printing corresponds to the
denomination or contains phrases such as “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “USA,”
or “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
